Once the New Year we have always a lot of mandarins. And when they get tired there in its purest form, I want them to cook — something unusual. This recipe is very simple and requires a minimum of cost. I pickled mandarins in the refrigerator a little more than a day, they were very fragrant, delicious and unusual. The main thing — to make a lot of punctures with a toothpick to carefully tangerines soaked caramel syrup.
Tangerines — 12
Sugar — 1 cup
Cinnamon — 2 sticks
A handful of nuts
orange liqueur — 2 tablespoons
1. Tangerines my, peeled, pierce with a toothpick and add it to the baking dish.
2. zest of one — two mandarin oranges cut into thin strips. In a saucepan and add sugar over low heat, stirring constantly, heat until it dissolves and do not darken. Then poured into 300 ml of water and stirring constantly, continue to heat until dissolved caramel.
3. Add the cinnamon sticks in a saucepan, peel and boil the syrup over low heat for another 5 minutes.
4. Remove from the heat, add the orange liqueur and quenched mixture. Pour the syrup in the form of tangerines, cover with a lid, cool completely and send in the refrigerator for at least 7 hours. From time to time turn the tangerines, caramel syrup if you do not cover them completely. Before serving, sprinkle with pistachios mandarins and pour caramel syrup.
