Mazarin, marzipan cake with strawberries

This cake is very popular in the Nordic countries, it is named after the famous French Cardinal Jules Mazarin (Jules Mazarin), 1602 — 1661. I was going to cook this cake last summer, but then it is over strawberry season, so we had to wait a whole year … thank you for the recipe Anya, as well as for the supply of delicious marzipan :). Pie won my heart and all my family :). Shortbread dough is obtained very gentle, incredibly flavorful marzipan filling with a crisp and fresh as the notes of strawberries … All in all, an amazing combination of products, be sure to try it!

For a diameter of 24 cm

Ingredients

  • Short pastry:
  • Butter — 100 g
  • Sugar — 60 g
  • The Egg — 1
  • Flour — 150 g
  • salt — 1 pinch
  • Baking powder — 1 pinch
  • Filling:
  • Marzipan — 300 g
  • Butter — 150 g
  • The Egg — 2
  • Strawberry — 400 g
  • Note

  • 1. To prepare the dough butter cut into cubes, and together with the sugar, baking powder, salt, egg and a little flour ground in a blender. Add the remaining flour (add more if necessary), knead the dough, form a ball and wrapped in plastic wrap, send in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
