Chicken in cherry sauce

Many cooks believe the combination of the bird and cherry sauce perfect. I am far from being a cook, but also inclined to this opinion :). It must be said that the combination of meat and sweet — sour sauce I’ve always been very close, but today I was struck by his family also so delicious sauce for meat, like cherry. It is unusual, but amazing! I believe that the most important thing in cooking — do not be afraid to try that — something new, so I strongly advise to try this option and cooking poultry. Instead, you can also use chicken duck.


Ingredients

  • Chicken — 1.5 kg
  • cloves of garlic — 1
  • onion — 2
  • Thyme — 0.5 teaspoons
  • Vegetable oil — 1 tablespoons
  • salt — to taste
  • Pepper — to taste
  • Cherry sauce:
  • Cherries (pitted) — 300 g
  • Dry red wine — 125 ml
  • Sugar — 40 g
  • Water — 100 ml
  • bay leaf — 2
  • Peppercorns — 10
  • Note

  • 1. my chicken and cut into pieces. Garlic and onions are ground and mixed with thyme, salt, pepper and oil.
  • 2. Stir the mixture with chicken and leave to marinate the chicken for 1 — 2 hours. Then fry the chicken in a pan on all sides until golden brown, we shift into the pan, and send in a preheated 180 degree oven for 30 — 40 minutes and bake until done. To prepare the sauce in a saucepan, mix the sugar, water and wine, bring to a boil, add cherries (if thawed, then together with the juice), bay leaf and peppercorns. Again we bring the sauce to a boil and cook for 5 minutes and turn off the fire. When serving pour the chicken sauce and enjoy! Bon Appetit!
